Librarians and Community Centre Professionals from Kardzhali Region Complete Training on Engaging Community Activities

On 6 July 2026, librarians and community centre professionals from the Kardzhali region took part in the training programme "Engaging Community Activities in Libraries and Community Centres", developed by the Financial Literacy Initiative Foundation. The training was hosted by the Nikola Y. Vaptsarov Regional Library in Kardzhali.

The programme aims to support libraries and community centres in their role as vibrant spaces for learning, social interaction and community engagement. It introduces practical approaches to designing activities that attract diverse audiences, encourage active participation and strengthen connections within local communities.

Through practical exercises, interactive games and group discussions, trainer Rositsa Vartonik presented the key principles of engaging learning formats and demonstrated how they can be applied when working with children, young people, adults and mixed-age groups. Particular attention was given to activities that foster social and emotional skills, stimulate creativity and collaboration, and encourage meaningful interaction between generations.

During the workshop, participants explored real-life examples, exchanged successful practices from their own organisations and developed ideas for new community initiatives tailored to the needs of their local audiences. They were also introduced to practical planning tools designed to help transform ideas into sustainable community projects.

Participants described the training as highly practical and inspiring, emphasizing that it provided not only fresh ideas but also concrete methods that can be readily adapted to the work of libraries and community centres. They shared their confidence that the approaches presented would help create more engaging activities and encourage broader participation in community life.
