Training “Financial Literacy in the Digital Age”

I. Main Educational Objectives of the Training Seminar

The training is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the field of personal finance management, with a focus on the use of financial products and services in a digital environment and on protection from risks in the digital space. Another key focus is the presentation and piloting of financial literacy education programs for different target groups, which librarians can use in their work within the local community.


II. Main Thematic Areas of the Training

Part 1. “Personal Finance Management”

  • Fundamentals of financial planning, preparation of a personal financial plan and budget

  • Credit products

  • Insurance and insurance products

  • Saving and investments

  • Pension provision

  • Bank cards and online banking

  • Security in a digital environment

  • Consumer protection

Part 2. “Financial Literacy Education Programs”

Presentation and piloting of financial literacy programs that can be effectively used in organizing and delivering training for various target groups—children, youth, and adults. The following are reviewed: the platform “Financial Literacy in Public Libraries,” the programs “About Money and Other Important Things: First Steps,” “About Money and Other Important Things: Teen,” “Your Life, Your Finances,” as well as other educational resources.


III. Organizational Information

The training seminar is one-day, with a duration of 8 hours. It is conducted in groups of up to 25–30 participants in order to ensure meaningful and active participation in the training. The organizer provides all necessary training materials.
